Babys Getting There Vaccines Shot

I have been doing research on vaccines myself, as my two month old son is needing to be vaccinated. I recommend the book The Vaccine Book by Dr. Sears. He discusses all the current vaccines, what they contain, pros and cons of getting them and not getting them, etc. He also suggests an "alternative" vaccination schedule, that has kids getting no more than two vaccines at a time (easier for them to handle). THis is what I am doing with my son. I too am leery about vaccines, but there isn't current research definitively linking autism to vaccines, just suggestions that it could be linked. Specifically read up on the MMR shot. SOme believe this is the one that could really be linked to autism. Hope this helps you!

Despite of all the responses you will get to your post, there is actually NO scientific research that vaccines cause autism. In fact, scientists are now thinking that autism is genetic. Johns Hopkins released an article in November I think. You may want to check it out on their website. Anyway, I would highly recommend the book by Dr. Sears on vaccines and vaccination schedules. You can order it from the website: www.askdrsears.com. (Or get it at your local library). It is great. It tells you ALL about vaccines: which ones to get and which ones to disregard. It also talks about an alternate vaccination schedule that will limit the vaccinations to one or two a visit. My son received all of his vaccinations at the same time when we went to the pediatrician. The one year vaccination was by far the most traumatic with blood being drawn, two shots in the leg and one shot in each arm. It was very h*** o* my son and on me. I really should have just gone back to the pediatrician's two or three times and limited the shots to one or two each time. It would have been easier on us. Now that I know, I'll do that in the future.

If autism were entirely genetic, it's prevalence would not be dramatically increasing as it has been. It takes more than one or two generations for a genetic defect to increase the prevalence of diseases or disorders. I'm not saying that vaccines are entirely to blame, but it does appear that some environmental factor is at work.

I highly recommend reading "What your doctor may not tell you about children's vaccinations" by Dr. Stephanie Cave. It goes over all the current research into vaccinations and gives a balanced view of them.

I'd recommend making sure all shots are free of the mercury-containing preservative thimerosal, starting shots after 4 months of age, and avoiding Prevnar. Only get thoses shots required by law for school or daycare entry. Also, avoid those "combination" shots when possible. Don't get shots for more than 6 organisms at the same time.

I am also interested in this due to the new court case in Florida (?). Autism and Asbergers have to have a genetic link, but I agree there has to be environmental factor too.

Only get the ones required by law, is my personal belief. We won't get the flu shot or chicken pox for example. God made our bodies to fight off most things. It's totally a personal issue with me, I can't subject my children or myself to intentionally adding a "bug" to bodies, whether alive or dead.
