D.,
We bought a Convertible Eddie Bauer one for our daughter and are very happy with it. I'd do as the other moms suggested and checkout the Consumer Reports before you go shopping. We stood at Babies R Us forever trying to figure out which one would work best for us & safety concerns. The booster we bought features an easy adjustment that you don't have to unhook when a growth spurt hits and we'll never have to buy another seat for her because it will fit until she's about 100#. She went from the infant seat straight into it. I can check the exact name if you're interested. HeatherL

Am I the only read that caught the CAR part of that request....lol, anyways I would look in Consumer Reports and make sure to find one that the back can come off when they grow too big for that part to save yourself from buying yet another one in a few years.

Depending on how old your son/daughter is.. My friend recommended the Cooshie seat to us. It doesn't strap to a chair, but it doesn't slide due to how it is made. I just purchased one for my 20 month old daughter, and she loves it. I'm ordering another one for my parents house because I brought it over there, and my mom wanted to keep it. It won't scratch the chair either. Mine came with a carrying bag for when we go to someone else's house. I love it..

I have two - depends what you want. Either you have the kind that slide into the table and are secured in without a chair below it or you have the kind that sits on a chair and straps around the back to sit at the table with a tray attached or without the tray directly at the table. I like the slide in one better for travel and thats why we originally got it for a trip we took. Then we realized it would ruin our dining room table wood so I got a booster seat to just rest on one of the chairs. That way our lil' tike can join us at formal meals too. The one that has a tray I think is from Safety 1st and I don't remember the secured one's name - it is blue and locks under the table. Its so nice looking and I get alot of compliments on it. But don't remember the name. I got it at Target...Good luck with your choice. Call if you need anything.
