Conception Question - Chatsworth,CA

I finished Clomid, gave myself a shot (to release the egg) on April 15. My husband and I had timed intercourse. My doctor instructed me to take a pregnancy test on April 30th. Being a bit impatient I took a pregnancy test this morning. It was an EPT test, it didn't show that I was pregnant. However, I have had some very light spotting just this morning. How discouraged should I be? Is it too early to determine if I'm pregnant? Could this morning be implantation bleeding?

Just looking for some insight.

Thank you.

Both times I was pregnant I spotted. I thought I wasn't pregnant but the spotting only lasted part of a day then nothing. I took the test and it was positive. Definitely take the test again in a few days.

Good luck!

You could be pregnant. Take the test again in a week.

I took a pregnancy test and it was negative, then I started spotting. I was bummed because it was our first attempt in ttc with our second. My husband said we have plenty of time to practice. So I was almost 2 weeks late and took a pregnancy test... low and behold it was positive. I had to take 2 more test after that one because I was in total disbelief... I had already accepted that I wasn't pregnant. I was told that my spotting was very well implantation, so please don't be too discouraged because you might infact be pregnant. Wait until the 30th like your doctor said... at least try to :)

Don't be discouraged. If your doctor told you to wait until the 30th, then assume the signs won't show up until then. A negative test today doesn't necessarily mean anything. I recently spotted and had a negative pregnancy test, but I tested again a few days later and it was positive. Good luck!

Hey S.,
Light spotting can also be implantation spotting, so don't give up hope yet. Take it easy and wait until the appointed day to take your pregnancy test.

The spotting could be a number of things. It could be the time you were supposed to get your period, it could be implantation bleeding, the list goes on. I tested 2 weeks after I missed my period with an EPT test and it came back negative. I waited three days and tested again, it was positive. Try so hard to be patient, and just act as if you are pregnant, ie - no drinking, smoking, eat healthy etc.

Try not to waste money testing constantly with expensive tests like I did! It really is money wasted. Two days is a long time when your body is just starting to produce the hormones needed for pregnancy detection. Try testing again in two days. If you are preggers, you will know soon enough! Also, a tip - dollar store pregnancy tests work great!

Don't be discouraged yet. The spotting could definitely have been impantation bleeding. But buy generic brand pregnancy tests. They are just as effective but cheaper. Don't let the fancy promises on those brand names play on your fears.

I am not even going to bother with the "Don't set yourself of for disappointment" because it is simply not humanly possible NOT to get your hopes up every 28 days.

If this is your first round of Clomid, don't get your hopes up either. I'm not trying to be a downer, but you do need to be prepared. The bleeding may be nothing, so don't assume from that either.

Since the doctor said the 30th, there is probably a reason, but I don't blame you for doing it early. Just go to the dollar store to save some money.

Sorry, that isn't really helpful.
