Hi - I am looking for recommendations for a 2nd crib that is travel ready or portable. I would like to use this at my 6 week old daughters grandparents house. I do have a pack n' play, is this what most people use? I have concerns regarding the safety of many products so want to get advice from other moms.

Thanks,
Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,

Congratulations on your new daughter! Pack n' plays are great for travel and your little one should be very comfortable in one at Grandma's house. They are nice because your mom can move it to whatever room she wants to put it in. As someone else stated, they can even be brought outside when the weather permits. I use them all the time for the infants and toddlers in my home daycare to nap in. Enjoy your time home with your child.

Jennifer, It depends on how much space you will have at your inlaws / parents place. Do they have room that you could set up a real bed? My inlaws had a guest room and they set up a real crib. it was wonderful in that the baby had the same bed when we would visit. It actually got a lot of use as we had 3 boys. the down side is that it doesn't work for bringing into another room and being used as a playpen / bassinet. so depends on what your looking for. the pack and play are really good for taking along.

All three of my kids have used the pack n' play as a crib at grandma's house. We also take it wherever we travel (we go to my parents' summer home often during the summer) and it makes a nice play area for outside or inside when you don't want to have them on the grass/floor. My littlest one is 10.5 months now and we used the pack n' play to keep her away from the tree and Christmas decorations on the main floor last month.
