I recently became a RN, but now that I am mostly done with my education (I start my master's this fall) I wanted to try to have another baby because if I wait until I am done with my master's, I will older and would rather not have a child at that age. I had my 1st baby vaginally, 10 years ago, and then an elective c-section with my twins, 6 years ago, since one twin was breech. I was just wondering if anyone has had a VBAC and/or knows a doctor/midwife that would be willing to allow one without getting pushy and impatient leading to a repeat c-section?
Same office as Dr. Cummings is Dr. Walsh. She was very supportive of me wanting to try for VBAC eventhough my c-section was 13 years before my next baby.
Not sure where you want to deliver but my OB is open to VBACs. She delivers at both Medical City Dallas and St Paul. Her name is Marcia Oliveira
I would highly recommend Dr Cummings in Denton also. I recently delivered my son with Dr Dooley (in his practice) bc my dr (Dr Asis) was out of town. All of the drs in this practice are very good and they do VBACs. The nurse I had at Denton Presby was phenomenal and all of the staff were extremely supportive of natural vaginal birth with no interventions. Good luck!

There are a few OBs and several great midwives in the area who are supportive of VBAC. Getting a doula will also be very helpful. The ICAN ladies can give all kinds of helpful recommendations, insight and encouragement.

I know alot of women who have had sucessful VBACs. I would check into your local free-standing birth centers and check at the hospital where you would most likely deliver. Ask for recommendations of good doctors/midwives. I wish I knew someone in your area! Good luck!

Dr. Downey is in Denton and a huge VBAC advocate. You can't go wrong with him. I had a successful VBAC with Dr. Katrina Allen in Grapevine. She never pushed me and only wanted what was best for DS and me. One of the best experiences of my life! It is a 45 minute drive for me about so worth it.
Since you had a successful vaginal delivery once, you should be a good candidate for a VBAC!! I have a few friends who delivered at the Innana Birth Center in Denton. If you feel uncomfortable delivering in a birthing center, and perhaps they know of a great Dr. for a referral. Make sure your insurance covers VBAC! My sister ran into that problem. She wanted a VBAC, but her insurance would not cover it.

I'm having a home VBAC this month myself :o) and am also a Nurse hoping to hurry into the MSN program.
Dr. Cummings in Denton is another good choice for VBAC.
