Has anyone used Empire Flooring Company, they are the ones that advertise on TV all the time? I just received a quote for carpet for 3 bedrooms and study plus tile in the bathrooms, they do not price out like most flooring companies by square foot, so not sure if it is a good deal. They were the first quote that I have received. Thanks in advance!

So What Happened?

Thanks everyone for your input, I went to Jeds Carpet in Arlington yesterday for a quote and it was $1050 less than Empire. The Empire rep has not followed up with me since the quote. I am taking everyone's advice and will more than likely use Jeds.

What type of flooring are you wanting? My client had some ceramic tile work done and the guy did quality work at a nice price. Let me know if you are interested.

I never heard of them, but based on the responses I would beware. We use a company named Redi Carpet and their prices are great. If you can not find any info contact me and I'll give you their info. It's much cheaper. They can measure one day and install the next.

They did a quote for us on laminate flooring to replace carpeting in our dining area and it was out of our price range, so we cancelled and just had our carpet cleaned by Zero-Rez instead!

I can't say whether it was a good price or not, just that it was higher than we were willing to pay.

Last year I used CC Carpet for ceramic tile floor plus carpeting and was very satisfied with their price and quality of work.

R. RUN AWAY FROM THEM! I had a terrible experience with them. I had them remove the carpet in my high traffic hall, and cover the linoleum in the laundry room and bathroom and replace it all with lamanet. First, when they cut the door frames at the bottom so that the lamanet would go under it the saw blade was dull and everyone of my door frames ended up frayed and badly chipped. Then the guy cut away too much carpet that was at the door of one of the bedrooms so that looked odd and there were many places that the carpet didn't stay tucked under the strip of wood where the carpet and hard floor met. But the absolute worst thing of all was that they didn't reinstall the toilet correctly and in two days the floor in the bathroom was making a squishing sound when we walked in there because the water was going under the lamanet floor! This was all right before and during Thanksgiving! When they came out to fix it they had to rip up the floor in the bathroom and part of the hallway. Then they had to let it dry a couple of days before they could come back to replace it. They also left several of the skinny trim nails sticking out which could cut your feet and mop. I had to replace the trim piece beside the tub because they did such a bad job of it and I also had to have a plumber fix the shut off to my toilet because of them. The end result looked good if you didn't look too close and especially not at the bottom of the door frames but I would never hire empire to do anything for me again.

We got a quote from them in June. They were higher than anyone else who came out even after their "discounts" were added on. I wouldn't recommend them.

We had them put wood floors in our living room and halls about a year ago. They did a great job and it looks great. We had to have them come back out and restretch the carpet in the bedrooms that butted up against it, but they did it immediately and with apologies and said don't hesitate to have them come back out again. We have had no problems since. They just didn't tack it down well enough the first time and the carpet started coming out from underneath the wood trim. We paid $6,000 for the laminate that looks like real wood, which I don't know if it was a good price or not. We just wanted it done immediately. My husband had paid twice that much at his former house but it was real wood and he had a friend that he paid to do the labor, so that was cheaper.

I would not use them at all, there prices are SO high! I recieved a quote from them on my laminate flooring and was able to get it done for 1/2 their price.

They lied too, saying it was knocked down an additional 50% (as the tv commerical says) and my husband caught some "glitches" in her calculations. She was so embarressed she didnt know what to say, but she tried to jumble some excuses out, but never correcting the problem.

JMO you can do better! Good Luck!

I think they their prices are extremely expensive. I got a quote for and it was twice the price of the other quotes I recieved for hardwood floors. Needless to say I didn't use them because I felt they had a sucker on their hand.
