First Finger Food Ideas?

What did you moms give as your baby's first finger foods? I am running low on ideas! You'd think having done this before I would have it down but I cannot remember to save my life! My little one is getting sick of bananas! haha

Also, at what age can baby have stuff like salmon (cooked, no bones) and sushi? I know sushi probably not for a while, but just curious when you introduced.

TIA

What can I do next?

My daughter is 10 months old and here are some things that she really likes:
little pieces of toast with cream cheese
little pieces of canned (salt free) veggies
cut up avacado (if you roll it in cracker/cheerio crumbs it's easier to pick up)
cut up banana (ditto on the rolling in crumbs)
puffs (target sells an organic brand)
cheerios
shredded cheese
little pieces of tortillas with melted cheese
crackers
little pieces of watermelon
cubed tofu

She has had cod and salmon both, and did great wtih both and loved them.

My son likes those Gerber Graduates freeze dried fruit. He likes the strawberry, banana and apple. He also likes teeny-tiny cut up fruit.

We cooked sweet potatoes until really soft. Huge hit with the kids.

You didn't say how old baby is, but there's lots of soft things you can give...

shredded cheese, small pieces of WELL cooked veggies (carrot, cauliflower, broccoli), toast (with lots of fun toppings, and cut into tiny pieces), tiny pieces of lunch meat, cereal bits, crackers...

I started tuna around 7 months, because my daughter really liked it. I make tuna salad sandwiches and then cut her up some bite size pieces...about the size of my pinkie...but she's 15 months old now. When I started, I cut them about half that size.

Raw fish? I dunno...I wouldn't give it to my children, I guess, until they were old enough to make that choice and knew what it was about. :) Maybe I'm just biased...I don't like raw food. :)

i'll be watching your answers. our oldest was over 1 year before he could eat finger foods, he has a medical issue though. i think salmon would be okay as long as your baby is able to chew it, it is really healthy too!! i would say, depending oh how well baby can chew and swallow, string cheese, peas(not really a finger food per se but it works), maybe raisins, graham crackers, etc.

One of my son's favorite first finger foods was pieces of toast cut into bits or strips. He loved it topped with butter at first and then as his tastes grew we did jelly, applesauce, cottage cheese, etc. on top!

Hi - I think salmon would be ok if it is thoroughly cooked and deboned. No sushi until 3. As for finger foods, I have used the following on 9 mo old with great result (mostly)!

-avocado, banana, cantaloupe, watermelon, shredded cheddar/mozz/jack/, zucchini, yellow squash, broccoli, cauliflower, tofu, all the fruits, puffs, frozen whole wheat bagel halfs, deli pops, grape quarters (peeled)

My son is 10 months old and he's been eating table food for about a month now. For breakfast we've done waffles, muffins, scrambled eggs, toast with jelly, oatmeal, fruit. For lunch & dinner we've done lunch meat, cheese, cubed chicken, turkey breast, black beans, canned peas & green beans, bread, cottage cheese, tomatoes.
