we are taking the family (a 15 yr old and a 2 yr old) to sesame place, and we want to go to Amish County and do the stay on a working farm thing. Anyone have any ideas for me? I think Crayola factory is close too.. not sure.
Any suggestions on specific farms would be awesome
Thanks!!

Crayola factory isn't close to Sesame Place. Sesame Place is great for your 2 year old but your 15 year old may be bored. The park is 1/2 water rides & 1/2 dry rides w/ about 3 shows & a parade. I've only done day trips to Amish country though...That sounds like a blast.

This was close to Dutch Wonderland (small amusement park owned by Hershey).

Hi there,

I am originally from Greenwich, Cos Cob actually, so "Holla"!!! Anyway, I looked up Sesame place since my 3 year old son likes Sesame St. and yes, its really a water park and really expensive!! Plus you have to buy a 2 day ticket. Little kids can be unpredicatable and it would be a shame to spend so much money and have to leave after an hour or 2. Plus, what would a 15 yo like at Sesame Place? We are going to the Crayola factory next week and it looks really cool! I have heard good things about it. There is also a zoo around that area that is great fun for the family. I think its the Lehigh Valley Zoo. The farm thing sounds cool, my son loves farms.

Crayola factory is located in Easton,Pa. This is a fun place to visit. Sesame Place is about one hr away from the Crayola factory. When our kids were younger we visited Sesame Place. We enjoyed ourselves. Dorney Park is much closer to Crayola Factory Probably twenty min.
Dorney Park has a great area for younger kids. Snoopy is the mascot. They hae an amusemet for the rest of the family. They also have a water park. Many water rides good for young children.

SOME people are surprised to know this (maybe you know it), BUT Sesame Place is primarily a water park, just FYI. I lived up in PA for a couple years. Lancaster County (a big Amish community there) is great to go to, but is not very close at all the Sesame Place. The crayola factory would be awesome!

I took my five yr old to Amish country and he loved it! We did not stay at a farm we stayed at a motel that had a little petting/feeding area with goats, chickens, etc for farms check out tripadvisor and similar sites. Your two yr old will like Sesame Place if he likes large characters. Another place that would be great for both kids is Dutch Wonderland. IF you like Christmas (both the highlight of our trip was Abe's Buggy Rides, you can feed animals and enjoy playground while you wait your turn
IF you go to Sesame- the food is expensive, not so good and long lines, you can take your own food, drinks etc

they are not very close to each other.... like another poster said dutch wonderland much closer to Amish country (and in my opinion a much beter park for young kids). Hershey is also close to Amish country ( and 15 yr old will like it) you can get combo tickets for them.
. Crayola factory was great but may kids may be too old/young for it right now
