It is great that everyone is recommending so many products for your daughter! What a wonder sight for getting help when you need it.

One thing that nobody has mentioned yet - your skin/scalp is the body's largest organ, and it sends a very clear message about what's going on inside. Is your daughter taking vitamins or omega oils?

I researched tons of products when my #3 boy had eczema as an infant. I also researched which companies stand behind their products, and can guarantee that what's on the label, is ACTUALLY IN the product (along with making sure that there is nothing harmful that leeches its way in due to poor manufacturing practices).

It seems you have lots of great recommendations. I agree that the sulfate based cleansers are very harsh. I am a hair dresser of 20 years with a sensitive scalp and am finally experiencing relief with Deva Concepts products. They contain absolutely no sulfate and use only natural ingredients to cleanse the hair and scalp. You have to read ingredients carefully because there are milder forms of sulfates that are used in some better products but they still contain a derivative of sulfate which is irritating. Truly sulfate free cleansers will not lather or will lather very little. This is hard to adjust to at first but you will notice very quickly that they are cleansing and your daughter will have some relief. Good Luck!

I have had great success with the childrens line by Arnonne. Specifically, they have a hair/body wash. Their products are all natural have been great for my youngest. I love them so much i became a Rep. Might be worth a try. Good luck.

I'm not sure if by sensitive, you mean flaky, but if so, try using some baby oil on his scalp before washing his hair. Apply it with a soft toothbrush and let it sit for a couple of minutes before rinsing. My 15-month old son still has a little cradle cap and doing this every other washing really helps the dryness and keeps the flakes away. His pediatrician also said I could use anti-dandruff shampoo once a week, but I haven't had to resort to that yet!

We had this with my second son and used melaleuca, arbonne, all the natural products at the whole foods store and something always irritated him. Finally I researched these products on a website where they rate every ingredient in the products and a lot of the "natural" ones have harmful ingredients in them! Even arbonne, which I though was so great! Yikes!!!

We switched to Dr Bronner's Baby and it works great! It is only essential oils and fatty oils like coconut oil! It is 100% safe (as per this website). This worked for us, and my son has severe eczema and it soothes him instantly.

You need to check the ingredients on the back of the shampoo/body-wash you are currently using for your daughter.
Don't use it if it contains Sodium Lauryl Sulfate or Sodium Laureth Sulfate. These are very harsh ingredients; in the same way as it dissolves the grease on car engines, sodium lauryl sulfate also dissolves the oils on your skin, which can cause a drying effect. It is also well documented that it denatures skin proteins, which causes not only irritation, but also allows environmental contaminants easier access to the lower, sensitive layers of the skin.

There are products out there which don't use these ingredients. Personally I love Melaleuca products. My kids also have sensitive skin and I use Melaleuca's hair wash for my two youngest and Melaleuca's regular shampoo and conditioner for my 7-year-old.
