Please if anyone has had a good experience with a midwife, I'd like to find an exceptional nurse midwife who would be willing to deliver at home.

What can I do next?

I have the best midwife ever! I'm 23 weeks pregnant right now -- she's delivered two of my other boys at my home. I live in Gilbert -- unfortunately she's in Phoenix, but well worth the drive. Her name is Mary Henderson ###-###-####.

I am also using Wendi Cleckner for the birth of my 4th child. All the people in Wendi's practice are wonderful, very relaxed and great at involving the whole family (which my other children love). She is organized and truly interested in giving you the experience you want - not pushy at all.

I delivered my other 3 at a birth center (which has since closed) and had wonderful experiences with the midwives there as well, but the office was run more like a typical OB practice. This has been a much more relaxed exprience.

Good luck!

Hi M.,
I had both of my children at home with a wonderful midwife named Mary Henderson. At that time, 2001, she had been a midwife for 21 years and had delivered over 1600 babies!!! She has an incredible demeanor, is gentle, kind and completely passionate about what she does. Not to mention a master at her craft! Her website is www.beyondconceptionmidwifery.com. I highly recommend Mary and encourage you to meet with her so she can answer any questions or concerns you might have.

Good luck!

My midwife is the BEST in the world. No kidding! Her name is Wendi Cleckner. Here is her website - check her out!:

http://globalmidwifery.org/

We also recommend Sue DiSilvestro and Stephanie Soderblom.

Here is a website that lists most of the homebirth midwives in Arizona:

http://arizonamidwives.com/

Most of these midwives are licensed midwives rather than CNM's. However, they are TOTALLY well-qualified and extremely knowledgeable and professional. We had our birth with Wendi and Sue two years ago and would never do it any other way.

Best wishes!!!

P.S. Feel free to email me with questions!!

It would help if I knew where you were located. There are several TERRIFIC midwives around the area. On the East Side, I would highly reccommend Wendy Cleckner, or Sarah Blum-Sheller of Global Midwifery www.globalmidwifery.com or in Scottsdale there is Mary Langolas (search Mary the midwife) You can also go to AZMIDWIVES.com for a list of qualified midwives. Good luck and happy Home Birthing!!! J.
