Looking for Babysitters in or Around Oak Park, IL

My husband and I, too, are new to Oak Park, or will be as of this Friday when we close on our townhome. I'm looking for ANY and ALL references available: ie. OB/Gyn, Pediatrician, Primary Care Physician, Dentist, area playgroups, etc. My daughter is 16 months old, and I'm desperate to get in touch with other kids that she can play/socialize with.

We live in the Western suburbs and our family is from Oak Park. There are a couple of resources you can use to find babysitters. First, Concordia University (local) has a great early ed program. They have a job board there which you can call and post for babysitters. Also, the park district teaches a babysitting class and should post a list of certified babysitters or you can give them your name and someone should call you back. Also, Dominican University is another option. Also, there is a great parent resource center called Parenthesis located in Oak Park. They can help you find babysitters, playgroups, etc.... Or just give you an hour off while you put the kids in babysitting and sit in the lounge area and pay bills or whatever. You can find them in the book or online. I hope this helps. Also, try the local high schools as well. There is a Catholic girls high school on the north end of Oak Park or River Forest, I can't remember which, that might be helpful as well.
