I was wondering if anyone knows of any off brand diapers that work well. Right now I am using Luvs and we do love them but with a breastfed baby we are going through diapers like crazy. Any opinions would be appreciated.

So What Happened?

I just wanted to thank everyone that pointed me in the direction of the Target and Sam's Club brand diapers! What God sents you all are! :-) I've tried both brand and they both work great for a lot less money than what I was spending. Thank you again for the great advice!!! :-)

I use walmart brand. They work really good and they are only 5.88 a pack. Ive got 4 kids and used it for all of them.

I notice the date on this is a ways back, but I've had lots of luck with the Kroger Comforts. My dd was breastfed and I never had any trouble with them. Hope this helps.

Hi Katrina! I have tried several off brand of diapers that I really like. It does save a ton of money too. Target Brand is great. F.M.V. (For Maximum Value) are sold at Kroger, and a couple other places that I can't think of right now, and also, Whisper Touch at Meijer. Whisper Touch is really the exact same as FMV. Hope this helps....

I have a 2 year old boy who we use Kroger brand on during the day. We still need to use Pampers at night for leaks but since we change often enough during the day the Kroger brand is working well.

Katrina-

I have used Target diapers for all three of my kids and they have been awesome. I even prefer them to Pampers.

I've heard the Costco brand diapers are a great non-brand diaper. They are called Kirkland Brand. They come in sizes from newborn to toddlers. They have received excellent ratings. Good luck! R.

I had the same problem, I started off using all name brand diapers because I wanted to use the best for my son, but boy did it get expensive. Walmart has there own brand of diapers that worked great for us with our son and they never leaked. Good luck!

I have twins boys aged 9 months that I breastfed until they were 5 months old so trust me when I say that I know how quickly the child will go thru diapers. I found that the Parents Choice Brand at Wal-Mart worked just as well as Pampers for a lot less money.

Hi Katrina,

Just wanted to let you know that I have an 11 month old in daycare and they go through diapers as well. I put my baby in the Meijer brand diapers and they work fine.

Hope this helps!!

I've been using the Target brand size 2 for the past couple of months and they've been great. I have some Sam's generic size 3's that I'm waiting for my daughter to grow into. I've heard that those are good as well.

OK, I know this might sound strange (it did to me at first, too), but why go through so many diapers when it's so easy to tell when your baby is going to go? Breastfed babes almost always pee/poop either within 5-30 minutes after nursing, and sometimes even mid-feed (you know when they get all wriggly while on the breast, maybe sounding a little grunty, and start popping on and off and on the breast?). Just gently remove the diaper, hold them in a supported manner over a little potty, and give them a few minutes to do their business. You'll be blown away that they *know* what to do! And then wipe with a square of toilet paper and you'll never go back to cleaning up those breastfed-poopy-blowouts. Your babe will love it, too. For more information, check out:

We've done this with our babies (we use diapers, but just offer the potty when we see our baby signal or when it just seems like a good time to offer), and it's so gentle and loving and cool - and it becomes absolutely 2nd nature, just like breastfeeding. It's a very logical extension of breastfeeding, actually - you'll have no problems learning your baby's signals! AND you'll save a ton on diapers, too. :)

My daughter was breastfed for almost a full 7 months. I used the Pampers brand. It worked wonders and when she started to crawl the pampers cruisers were a Godsend. Avoid HUGGIES. they didn't work well for me. Leaks all the time. Take care!
