So What Happened?

Hi, So, thanks for all the answers. Since most seemed to like it, I got one. I can't get the water to come out the other side! I'll keep trying! I'm not real stuffy so I don't think that's the problem. I guess I just got to figure out how to lean my head! Thank You again.

Love it! I use it every day and twice if I am getting congested which hasn't happened near as often since I started. It does take some getting used to. I recommend going to their website and watching a tutorial on how to use it.
ps It's still really gross to me but it works! ha ha

I use the Sinu Rinse. Great! The refill packets are inexpensive and can be found at most drug stores. Great to use and does help :)

I think they work good. I used it in the shower in the morning so it doesn't seem so messy. When I used it I was able to stop my allergies from flaring. I would recommend it for a cold as well. The cleaner you can keep your nose the better you will feel.

I've used one for nearly a decade, and my hubby and most of my children use them, as well.

My suggestion is to just get plain sea salt (NOT table salt!) and add 1/2 teaspoon to 2 cups of water, heated to around 105 degrees F. Then make sure you stand over a sink and keep your face towards the sink; don't keep yourself upright! That will make it run down your throat.

It's absolutely wonderful and feels GREAT after you do it!

I love it! I don't have regular sinus problems, but when I have a cold, I use it when I first wake up...you know how you're all dry and stuffy. Gets out what would otherwise have taken the next 3 hours to come out on it's own. Kind of gross, but great too!

Also, I start using it at the first sign of a cold, at least one time per day, and i think it helps to keep the cold from getting bad. Probably not medical basis for this, but I think it helps.

As someone else said, if you're inflammed, it won't do a whole lot, since your passage has to be at least a little clear.

Yes, it is awesome! I never tried it till I saw Dr. Oz on Oprah showing how well it works..

I have terrible allergies and sinus infections.. Now I use the neti pot and get great results.

Everyone seems to rave about them, so I got one. I found it only helped very temporarily with my nasal congestion. It also took real focus not to let it make me gag. I definitely wasn't as "wow'd" as I expected to be. I honestly had better luck with nasal spray.

I love my Neti pot. It clears my sinusees and doesn't make me sleepy or give me cottonmouth. It did take some getting used to, though.

If you're nose is blocked, the neti pot wont do much, because it has to be able to flow through., but for sinus pain, they are great.
I also use olbas oil - this is the best nasal decongestant ever, you put it on your pillow, or a tissue, and lo and behold, you can breathe! You can't get it everywhere, but most health shops will sell it.

I have used one, but mostly for sinus problems and allergies. It cannot be used if your nose is too congested though. But it has helped with my sinuses, and I get less infections!

Hi Momto2, Yes, I use a Neti Pot & find it extremely helpful for nasal congestion! Wish I had found it years ago. My granddaughter uses it often whenever she has her sinus issues. It really works!

I use AYR, which is a kit you can buy at a drugstore/CVS, comes with saline packets. For lack of a better term, I call it the nose douche (it operates the same way). It's fabulous and easy to use.

I only use a sinus rinse when I have a sinus infection. I'm wary of introducing infections into my sinuses since I'm so prone to them anyway. They flush out a lot of nasty gunk but it's only temporary. There's always more gunk. {{{sigh}}}

I use a neti pot when I have nasal congestion due to allergies. However, it does not work if you have a sinus infection. It does work; however, when you are on antibotics as the neti pot will help clear out the nose for the medication to work.

You just reminded me that I need to start using mine! I usually use it pretty regular in the spring and fall when my allergies tend to be the worst. It really does help alleviate some of the symptoms and helps prevent it from turning into sinus infections as often.

Thanks for the reminder!

I started using the sinus rinse once a day, I loved how it made me feel, kinda refreshed under the eyes... after the 3rd day I was woken up around 2am and I thought my nose was running, and in my sleepy stupor smeared it all over my face, but it kept running... so I went to the bathroom and I had a horrible bloody nose. (with a blood smeared face). So, I might try it again if I am really congested, but not other than that.
