I am new to the Portland area and am seeking an OB. I have Providence Insurance. Can anyone recommend a doctor somewhat near the Beaverton area? I am willing to drive a little further if there is a doctor who especially stands out. Thanks for your help.

So What Happened?

Thanks for the quick responses. I have decided to go with the midwives at Women's Healthcare Asso. I have yet to have my appointment and will post my thoughts after. Again, I really appreciate all of the responses and will keep all in mind for the future.

I had the most fabulou OB. Her name is Dr. Shirley Fox and she is through Westside Women's Health and delivers at Providence St. Vincent. I cannot say enough great things about her. Attentive, intelligent and so nice and caring.

I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Girolami at Womens Healthcare Associates Tualatin office. He TRULY cares and goes above and beyond the realm of DR., rare in this day and age. He delivers at Meridian Park, which is like a hotel with the most excellant and efficiant staff. ALL of my friends have now switched to him and feel as I do.

I love my OB and the clinic she's in. I go to Portland OB and Gyn Assoc and see Linda Moore. I usually go to the Good Samaratin office (that's their main clinic) but they also have an office at St. Vincent (Dr. Moore sees patients at both sites).

Good luck!

Dr. Michelle Sang also of Portland OBGYN is good. Good clinics both at Good Sam office and Providence.

I used a midwife (Helen Welch) at Women's Healthcare Associates near St. Vincent Hospital on Barnes Rd. All the midwives there were wonderful, and I've heard their OBs are fantastic as well. One of the OBs ended up doing my c-section, and I loved her. Too bad I can't remember her name, but she was very tall and brunette.

I love Dr. Davis @ Northwest Women's Clinic. He has an office on Scholl's Ferry as well as downtown on Lovejoy. He delivered my daughter my VBAC last year and he will deliver our next baby this December. He really takes the time to talk and explain things, I highly recommend him!
