New to the Flower Mound area/Seeking a Sports Activity for My 4 Year Old Son

We have lived Flower Mound for a few months, and my son is 4 years old. He would like to play a sport, but I am not sure where to begin. I am thinking soccer might be the way to start out, but I think he would also like a baseball team as well. Having only one child, I'm new at this. Any suggestions and advice is appreciated.

What can I do next?

GLASA is the go to league for soccer in Flower Mound. They usually try to place you on a team w/other families in your neighborhood. Good way to meet other kids in your area.
FMYSA is the most popular league for baseball.
The Y is also a great place to start as they offer all kinds of leagues.

Trietsch Memorial United Methodist Church has Upward programs (soccer, Flag football, Basketball) that are great for that age

YMCA Programs, GLASA (Greater Lewisville Soccer Association)

If he likes running, when he is older there is a great Cross Country Club for kids in the Flower Mound/ Highland Village area too - Lake Cities Cross Country.

Here's a list of area sports leagues:

I would also suggest contacting the Flower Mound CAC or the Lewisville Rec Center. When my kids were younger (before they opened the CAC), they went to LV Rec and took a "Sports Sampler" class. It was a program that was about 6 weeks long, and each week they'd try out a different sport. It was a great way for them to see if it's something they'll enjoy.

Good luck!

My daughter will be 4 in June. We are enrolled at the Carrollton location which is really close to FM.
