Just want to know if anyone has been on these diet pills. My doctor has had me on them since November 22, 2006 & I have not lost alot. Not like others I have heard about. I will admit to 10 pounds max weight loss. Have you had better success & what extra did you do to be so successful? I have joined CURVES & go everyday, but not open on Sundays. So I walk the neighborhood. On top of it, I am on PROZAC 20mg that is suppose to INCREASE the effects of the diet pills. I walk around hungry, even after I have just ate a full meal. I eat small meals throughout the day. For the first week or 2, I wanted nothing to eat. Was not even thirsty! So I had to force myself to drink. Then my hubby was forcing me to eat what lil I was eating. So anyways~ Now I am always wanting something to eat... I do restrain myself from the kitchen, butI am not loosing weight either. I eat Lean Cuisine & Smart One dinners for MEALS. Snacks are fruits or Triscuit crrackers. Help me, any other advice out there that you can offer me?

What can I do next?

I was on the 30mg Phentermine from Sept-Jan and LOVED it. I lost about 39lbs. I made sure to take it at the same time every morning and never had any side effects other than always having a dry mouth so I constantly drinking something. The way my Dr prescribed it was that I was on it for 3 weeks and then off for a week and then start back up again. I need to find a PCP as my OB/GYN doesn't see it as a GYN situation.

Good luck to you!

J.,

I have been on phentermine and lost about 15 lbs tops....your body builds a tolerance to the meds after a few weeks/months....so, you may just need a break from them for awhile....also, do a little research on food allergies and weight loss....my doc told me about this....you may be eating less but the wrong foods.....you can actually be allergic to certain foods that cause weight gain or interfere with weight loss....there are some places that will do the food allergy testing for you.....Look up ALCAT test....I think that is the correct name, not sure.....I've heard great stories about women who have lost weight after finding their food allergies and eliminating those foods.

Hi J.,
I don't know anything about the diet pills but the frozen meals and the triscuit crackers have a lot of salt and may be causing you to retain water. You may look for a cookbook with quick, simple, and healthy recipes. I know it must be extremely challenging to cook at all with four kids and being on your own a lot. But, I know the feeling of being stuck because after my first daughter I lost all but 10 lbs., only to start packing it back on and I couldn't lose no matter what I did. Exercise and eating better. After my second daughter it just seemed to come off so much easier, but I am really missing meals and running my buns off because my husband has been working out of state for 9 months. Hang in there, it will happen!

I have taken them more than once, the first time it was in combination with another drug, and it was super effective, but after I lost what I wanted I quit. THe next time I tried them it was not as effective, I had more energy but was less active and did not drink water as often. The most recent time my daughter was 6 months old and I hated the way I looked and felt, I was up 4 sizes. I had to put myself on a schedule, take the meds first thing in the morning wait 20-30 minutes and then go walking for at least 30 minutes (we worked up to 45 mins). After about 8 weeks I was down to a manageable weight, I think it was about 15 pounds but the inches were incredible, like someone else stated ignore the numbers. My clothes fit, I felt lighter, and I could stand looking in the mirror.
The big thing is making a plan, and drinking water, oh yeah working out in the morning gives you energy the rest of the day, and the fat keeps burning!! Drink water and stick to it.
GOOD LUCK!

I have taken these off and on for the last few years. It works wonders for me. I take two in the morning and drink water all day. Mixing medications are a tricky issue and I have not heard the most favorable things from Prozac. From what I understand it is a "downer", which means it is not going to enhance the effects of the Phentermine. Other than that, it sounds like you are on the right track with continuing with Curves.

Hi J.,

It sounds like you may have pushed yourself into starvation mode. IF you go too long with not enought nourishment, your body will shut down the weight loss.

Call a dietition. He or She can help you make better decisions and lose the weight you seek.

You are in my prayers.

First off, don't look at the numbers! I took Phentermine and it did help me to have the energy to keep moving. When you are exercising you build muscle which weighs more than fat. Therefore your numbers may plateau then drop again. Don't lose heart. I always measure my success on how my clothes fit. You are likely hungry because your energy is depleted after a good workout. Eat some fruit or vegetables and drink a ton of water. Water fills you up! Good luck!
