I would recommend giving Jackie Boldt a try (www.jackieboldtphotography.com). She is a photographer out of Eagan. She has a studio there for indoor shots but is willing to travel to get the right outdoor shot. She did our wedding last year and our family pictures. She is great to work with -- listens to your wants and needs -- and is economical (and you get to keep the originals).

I highly recommend Melissa Christenson from Journeys of Life Photography, she is absolutely wonderful with families and will meet you anywhere. Her prices are great and the best thing is YOU own the rights to the photo so you can get them printed anywhere as many times as you would like! I would highly recommend Kim Hoffbeck of Hoffbeck Photography out of Hastings, MN. She has a beautiful yard to take photos in or she travels to where ever you want to go. Amy is the name of the photographer and , honestly, i couldn't recommend her highly enough. My kids are not the easiest to work with and i wanted outdoor pics too. She hiked after them through some pretty tough places and there was even some tree climbing involved. Have a look at her website - she has a blog too which i think you can get too from the regular website.

I HIGHLY recommend Melissa Miroslavich at www.miroslavichphotography.com. She has an awesome studio in St. Paul and great places for outdoor shots. She is wonderful with kids and you'll get great shots and can purchase unique pieces that you don't find everywhere.

We have absolutely LOVED The Photographer's Guild (www.photographersguild.com)! They are based in St Paul, but I know they do weddings on location (and high school class photos), so I'm sure they'd be willing to come to you. She really tailors the session to your children and family's needs, which I truly appreciated as a mom of a newborn. We took our son there for his 3 month photos. She is located just north of 36 on Lexington, so very close to both Central Park in Roseville as well as Lake Josephine (?), both of which would be great for outdoor shots. I have several friends that are semiprofessional (read: they have a day job) photographers. Dave Whitaker and his co-lady are a little more well-established but my friends Matt and Matt (who can work together or apart, depending) have done great things, including my wedding (as well as lots of others').
