Pregnancy & Gas : \ Ugh!

I don't remember having this... err... side effect... with my other two pregnancies. I have the worst gas ever. It causes me stomach pain, and I have to pretty much lay down all evening when I get home from work because it gets "stuck" in places. I get pretty bad stomach cramping from it. My husband threatened to not sleep with me last night (he was joking... I think), and I don't blame him!! My daughters are constantly laughing & joking about it.

Is this normal? Obviously I'll bring it up with my OB at my next appointment, but I don't know if other expecting moms go through this. Can I take gas-x or something?

Happy Friday!!

What can I do next?

IM not sure how far along you are, but with my third I was in maternity bottoms at 7 weeks because anything tight made me gassy and it hurt so bad. Hang in there....good luck and congrats!

Yes, my OB said I could take GasX. They come in those strips that melt in your mouth and in mint flavor.

I farted all the time when pregnant,. Also had some serious burping going on. I, my children, and my husband would just laugh it off as one of the funnier sounding parts of pregnancy.
Now, are you cramping because you don't want to pass gas or because it hurts to get it out? (TMI! lol) Fart away friend.

I don't know why but as soon as I read this I thought of "I'm not pregnant I J. fart a lot" =)

When I was pregnant I was on progestrine (one--not sure which, whatever the hormone is) which has a side effect of gas and sudden explosive bowel movements and one time I RAN into the mcdonalds bathroom and had the loudest episode ever and I am so shy ussually in the department hence my recent post....there was someone in the stall next to M. and I couldn't help but laugh and cry it was so loud. I felt it was comically loud, as in the people outside probably heard it. I regained composure and never mentioned it until my ex and I were divorcing and I had no reason to impress anymore and mentioned the funny occurance and we both laughed for a while
