So we are going out of town this weekend, and realized that I have no bathing suit that fits me. AFter I had the baby like 3 months I was diagnosed with ppd and was put onmeds. I really didnt have a chance to loose all my baby fat but had lost like half of it untill the meds I really didnt realize I had gained more weight till months later whenthe weather was changing and I was getting out of the sweat pants.
I was talking to my sister in law who after talking for hours about my ppd she said when she had ppd she was on zoloft and that made her gain alot of weight as well. Once she got off of it andwas excercising she went back to her regular weight.
So i'moff the meds, its been 2 months and finding it hard to loose the weight.
So in the meantime I need suggestions on the best type of bathing suit to hide the big old belly, butt and all the cellulite that came with this. ugh. Plus I need some advice on any diet pills? diets? excercises that really work.
This is really bumming me out as i'm petite 5'1" and normal weight has always been like 117 the most 120lb,size 5 or 7 depending onstore, now I am at 148lb and a size 11 in pants.
I have NEVER had to excercise in my life to be skinny and watch what I eat, so I dont know exactly what i'm suppose to be doing. I do lots of walking with the baby and running up and down the stairs. I have no equipment but my husband has the bowflex but dont know how to use it and not sure if that is what I need to loose weight. I have no clue about diets or diet pills but just eating very little of everything.
So any advice is welcomed. first I need a bathing suit as I am leaving thursday night. THanks for reading ...

What can I do next?

I found my "figure flattering" suit at Kohl's, too. As for diet, try to avoid diet pills. I used them for a short time several years ago and they made me very jittery. Also, I don't see using them as a long term solution. The key to that is modifying your diet (not "dieting") and exercising. Weight Watchers has a one week free on-line trial right now. I am trying it and have lost a few pounds already. You can learn about and do the the Core Plan or Flex Plan. Good luck to you. I, too, am so frustrated, but I'm trying to do better for myself now. Take care!

I am in a similar situation. A few weeks ago I bought an awesome swimsuit at Kohl's. I can't remember the exact brand name, but it had tags on it that said something like "look slimmer, feel trimmer". I thought, yeah right. But when I tried it on I really liked it and felt like it was sucking my tummy in. It came in a few colors and styles (all one piece, which I had never been a fan of). Mine is solid brown with a deep v front, and is kinda bunched up in front of my tummy, which helps disguise it. It feels a bit tight when I first put it on, but that's because it sucks you in like a girdle! I would recommend it! It was reg. $80, on sale for about $50. Good luck with your weight loss- I've had a ton of people tell me they did great on Weight Watchers, so I may try that.

Lisa,
You are welcome to come try out our post-partum stroller fitness classes with On A Roll Stroller Fitness. All of our classes are geared toward the needs of new moms and moms to be. We meet 6 days a week in your area and the best thing is that your baby can be with you. I worked as a regional manager for several of the big club chains and started this business because after working at them I saw what truly happened in the day care.
We also offer post-natal personal training and a class called "Tummy Time for Mommy" which teaches you the proper way to get your abs and posture back in shape.
We always offer a free consultation and a free stroller fitness trial class so that you can really see what we're all about. You can check out Big Belly Fitness/On A Roll Stroller Fitness in the "Local Business Reviews" section as well as the "Member Perks" section of Mamasource to see what people are saying about us and to get the Mamasource discount.
Not only will you get a terrific workout (designed with your needs in mind), but you'll meet a lot of terrific moms who are going through the same trials and tribulations as yourself (we have quite a few PPD moms who are part of our program...one in particular has now lost 30 pounds and is feeling wonderful!)
As far a "quick fix" bathing suits, I would go to Tina's Closet in Lisle and have them do a fitting for you. They are amazing and can find the suit to flatter your body type. You will look and feel incredible!
Good Luck...we'd love to meet you soon!

I have lost my baby weight plus 7 lbs. I did alot of cardio to lose the weight. I have a Polar heart rate monitor so I easily know how many calories I burn each day. Jogging is a great way to lose weight. Also, if you can, join a gym. A couple months ago I joined Lifetime Fitness. I get two hours of childcare every day and it only costs me $6/month. I go 5x a week to the classes. I was shocked when I (at 123lbs) burned 450 calories at their 1hr cardio kickboxing class.

Also, make sure to eat well. For lunch I eat a PBJ and an apple and for dinner I eat either chicken or fish, mashed potatoe and broccoli. Of course, you will also want to eat breakfast and two snacks during the day. Watch your portions, no matter what you eat.

Pregnancy weight is the hardest weight to lose, but I promise you that you can do it. You have to understand it takes time. And if you fall off the bandwagon, get back on. Just because you 'cheated' for a few days on meals, doesn't mean you have to choose a new start date... pick right back up the next day!
