Recommended Pediatrician in Dallas?

I am hoping to find a recommendation for a pediatrician in the dallas area who is open-minded (or could at least have the conversation) about alternative medicines and various behavioral and developmental issues that are sometimes considered "parenting" questions. There are a lot of times when I feel that we just get the generic auto-response about concerns we have from time to time for our infant...i.e. feeding, sleeping, vaccinations, etc. Maybe its that we currently have a male pediatrician who is not understanding the pressure and strain of being a mom with a lot of questions! I would like to not feel like a nuisance when calling about my son...does anyone have a pediatrician that they love and would like to refer us to?

What can I do next?

We go to Pediatric Associates of Dallas as well, and I love them. Pretty much everyone in my family uses them. We primarily use Dr Foster, but have seen almost all of them at some point. Dr. Foster is extremely laid back, and on the one occasion where I felt I needed an outside opinion, he gladly reffered me to a specialist.

We love our pediatrician - Dr. Christopher Becker - I've often been amazed at how much time he spends with us. I've never been "rushed out" of his office - he's very, very patient and one of the best things about him is his nurse - if I call about a medical issue I will always get a call back in a timely manner. He is located at Park and Central Expressway - right across from North Park Mall at the Baylor facility. I suggest that you "interview" him and see if there is a connection. His office # is ###-###-####. Good luck! N. Creuzot

We love our pediatrician. He is Dr. Chris Straughn with Forest Lane Pediatrics which is located at Medical City at Forest/75 in Dallas. He is a wonderful man who always takes the time to listen. I never feel rushed and always feel comfortable asking the parenting questions. He has an almost 3 year old and twin babies so he understands. He has helped me out a lot with my 3 year old and 15 month old. I also like that I can call the office with any question and a nurse will call always call back and talk me through any issue and will discuss things with the doctor if needed before calling me back. The office is great, as are the other 3 doctors in there. Their number is ###-###-####.

Dr. Kennedy at Lovers Lane Pediatrics is great. We are doing an alternative vaccination schedule and she has no problem with it. She supports extended breastfeeding, doesn't make you feel a like a freak for co-sleeping, and has even suggested homeopathic remedies to ease symptoms of illness. I really like and trust her.

Dr. Stefanie Spaeth is great. My first visit with her, she noticed fluid in his ears, but left the decision of medication up to us. We don't get our son the flu shot and I can tell she'd rather have him have it, but she doesn't push. I'm sure she'd be open to talking to you. Their phone number is ###-###-####. I really do highly recommend her.

I would recommend Dr. Tammy Kennedy. She has been wonderful with respecting our desire to look at alternative medicine and not vaccinating. She practices in Inwood Village on Lovers and Inwood.

She is great. Also, this practice has amazing "phone nurses" who can answer questions any time.

We also go to Pediatricans of Dallas (Dr. Sommer Curtis was mentioned). We see Dr. Karen Halsell and love her. In addition to the phone nurses, they also have a lactation consultant on staff who's wonderful! For whatever it's worth, I find Dr. Halsell's bedside manner to be nicer than Dr. Curtis.)
