I want to get a double jogging stroller. I have been looking on Craigslist and there are so many. Swivel wheel, locked wheel. I don't know which is better or really the difference. Any advice is helpful and appreciated!

I don't have advice for you about specific strollers but I have advice on when you buy one. On one of my other mom sites a mom bought a jogging stroller only to find when she went home that the frame was bent and it kept pulling in one direction. I would recommend taking the sucker for a quick jog around the block before committing to buying one. I think she wishes she had :)

Many swivel wheel joggers have a lock, to keep the front wheels straight if really want to run. I find with the double, I need the swivel on always. It really is a must to manuever around corners. As the kids get bigger and harder to push it really comes in handy.
Then, are just jogging, or more walking and doing errands etc. You want to make sure it fits through standard doorways which are around 30 inches at the smallest.
I would go to a store and test them out to see what you like, then look on line. E-bay has lots of nice ones too. I bought my Baby Jogger after much research for 100 dollars less on e-bay(brand new). Check the fold too. Baby Jogger is SO easy to fold and I can squeeze into our sedan trunk if I need to. I would highly recommend Baby Jogger.(city series)

swivel or one with both is best. it makes it much more manageable to push if there is a swivel. the locked is primarily for jogging. we have the city series of the baby jogger and love it.

I recommend a swivel wheel. It is very, very difficult to turn a stroller with a locked wheel. Locked wheel really only works well (in my opinion) if you are jogging a straight line always. Most swivel wheel strollers also have a lock option to lock the front wheel if you are going to be only going straight, but then you can unlock it and use the stroller to walk around town, run errands, bring kids to the park, and other places where you may need to turn a corner :)

Finding a double stroller proved to be a much more involved task than I would have ever thought. I am due in June with #2 and have a 2 year-old. I've been researching them for months. Everyone has slightly different priorities, so I would strongly suggest looking at reviews online for any stroller that you are considering. There is no better way to learn than from other moms already using the same stroller.

That being said, my main priorities were side-by-side design, great sun shade, good basket storage, strong weight balance (a stroller that could safely hold an infant and a large toddler - make sure to check that, several popular strollers only hold up to 35 lbs on each side, really made more for equal weight balance, in other words, twins), narrow enough to fit through standard doors, and not terribly heavy to lift when folded up. I didn't want to spend $700 or $800, and had a really hard time finding what I wanted.

Ultimately we lucked out with the REI big annual sale, and bought the Bob double jogging stroller for under $500. So I'd say to take your time and wait to find the right one for you. Good luck!

I am a runner and a swivel wheel is a dream. I had both, and I prefer the swivle. Also, the fromt wheel turns when you fold it so it can be turned to the side instead of removed for more compact storage.. (in a trunk van etc) Good luck!

Trust me when I say buy a BOB. I now have 5 strollers and my favorite one by far is the swivel wheel Bob double. It can hold an infant car seat, it turns on a dime, it's easy to push and it's really not that hard to get in and out of a trunk. I also have a Maclaren Techno Twin Double that I'm selling if your interested! I like it but my boys have now outgrown it. Good Luck!
