Hi, I am wondering if anyone knows of a good place to take my daughter (2 and a half) for a hair cut? I live on the SouthSide or Richmond. She sits fairly still when I cut her hair, but would like a pro to give her a cute bob.

What can I do next?

I know the Southside has a salon called Divas and Dudes. I have also heard that one from the West End has recently opened up over there (Pigtails and Crewcuts).

Both places are designed for young children with neat cars to sit in while they get their cut and toys for the wait.

I recently took my daughter to Great Clips and she did great there too.

Best of luck.

Hi R.,

I live in Midlothian and noticed a new place just for kids to get their hair cut. I haven't taken my 3 year old yet (don't want to cut her hair), but it looks cute. It is called Pigtails & Crew cuts. It is on Midlothian Turnpike, in the same shopping center as the new Capitol Ale House.
Good Luck,
T.

A lot of my friends take their children to Pigtails and Crewcuts, but I've yet to see or hear of a good haircut to come out of there. Just because it is geared toward children with cute chairs and toys, does not mean you will get a good haircut. As a matter of fact, speaking from my past experience as a hairstylist, those very things (the cute chairs, etc...) would make it much harder to cut a child's hair. The more they have to look at and play with, the more distracted they will be, thus they will wiggle, etc... I would recommend that you ask your own hairstylist if she/he does children's hair or knows someone who does. You need a good stylist who doesn't do children's hair all day but has the patience to work with children.

Pigtails and Crewcuts has done a great job for my daughter! She can sit in a cool chair, watch a movie, pick a toy from the toy chest. You can find their info online. They are really busy on the weekends. I would take her during the week if it's possible.
