Does anyone know of any soccer leagues/associations for children in the Hamilton, Trenton or Fairfield areas? I am looking for my 5 year old son. Your help would be appreciated!

What can I do next?

K.,

There is a great league right on the border of Hamilton/Fairfield. It's called S.A.Y. soccer. It is held at Joyce Park. If you take River Road in Hamilton towards Fairfield it's on your right hand side soon after you pass the river. There are leagues by age group from 3-4 all the way up. I've been really impressed with them. My son played a couple years ago and again last year. He wants to play again this year. They have spring and summer leagues. I just pulled it up on the internet and it is a national organization. Here is the link for the local Hamilton SAY Soccer: http://eteamz.active.com/HamiltonSAYSoccer/

We live in Forest Park and my little girl is 2. We signed her up for soccer at a place called Tri County Soccer plex. Its on Northland Blvd. She loves it. We go on Saturday mornings for 40 min, but there are other sessions to choose from. It starts at 18months and up to 5 is instructional, but then they start playing in leagues after that. I'm not sure if you are looking for indoor or outdoor, but we have a blast at this place!! Might be good start for your 3 yr old too! The league is non-competitive and focuses on building/strengthening skills necessary for competitive soccer. I thought it was reasonably priced as well. There is also a facility in Mason, if that is closer.

If you are looking for an outdoor league, I would try the YMCA. Good luck! We LOVE soccer!!!! :)

Hi K. - I don't know about Hamilton or Fairfield, but soccer in Trenton is huge! For any of these towns, look for SAY Soccer. I think many of the coaches/organizers for SAY are volunters and they change a lot, so to find them start asking around...at the local YM/WCA...the local community recreation board...someone will be able to tell you who to call. SAY Soccer is great; my kids have realy enjoyed it!
