If you had yours stripped to help you go into labor, was it succesful and how long did it take after you had it done? I just had mine done yesterday and Dr said its about 72 hours. I was just curious about your experiences, thanks ladies :)

ADD: Thanks ladies, I know that it only really works if your body is ready so I am taking it with a grain of salt that it will start something :) I a 3cm and 80% and she is realyl low. Just keeping my fingers crossed that she comes before Fri or after (Fri is my daughters 4th bday and I want them to have their own special day). I have been having inconsistant contractions for about a week, so we will see if this does anything :-)

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

So thanks ladies for all your help and advice during my pregnancy. Got to the
hospital on the 15th, water broke and an hr later we had our little girl, Harley
Mae. They didn't even have time to give me an epidural so all natural. I am
feelin great and so is baby and we are home today. Thanks again for the
help through everything, what would I do without this site? (((hugs)))

I had it done starting at 38 weeks with both of my kids, and sorry but it didnt work. I was 3 cm and 100% effaced and had almost daily contractions...finally had to be induced. Its true, the baby decides, lol :)

I went into labor within 2 hours of having my membranes stripped. The MD did it in the hospital after I was admitted. But I was further than 3 cm / 80% effaced.

At first I thought you were writing this question from your L&D bed...so I'm surprised your not in full force labor by now.

I personally never had it done, but a good friend of mine did recently. She was in labor less than 48 hrs after her appt and baby was born less than 12 hrs after her first contraction (and she started at almost 0). Oh, and this was her first pregnancy!

Good luck & Congrats!

My doctor stripped mine when I was 38 weeks... then again at 39 weeks... then again at 40 weeks... then again the day before my induction... then the induction failed and I went into labor on my own a couple days later. Do whatever you want, but baby will come when baby wants. lol!

Mine were stripped twice, no luck. I was induced so the baby wouldn't get too big in order to have a V-BAC. V-BAC went great. Hope you have a healthy, happy baby!

I was 40 weeks 4 days when I had mine stripped. I was in labor in less than 3 hours. Ended up with a C-section 9 hours later for other reasons but definately was in labor . 5 hrs after I had contractions 5 mins apart.

Mine were stripped more than a week before. It did not help at all. I would not get your hopes too high.
Sorry.

I had my membranes done on the 15th, due date was the 17th, they decided to induce me on Dec 23rd! Lol I am a firm believer that babies come just as soon as they're ready! Good luck Mama!

Have someone do some walking with you. Walking always helps speed up the labor. PLEASE PLEASE make sure someone walks with you. I would hate for you to go do some walking alone and get the labor going full speed and needing to find help.

Good luck.... hope your little angel comes soon.
