Hi everyone, my boyfriends daughter is 12, autistic and mildly retarded. Every prior year she has been in summer school. This year, she isn't and he needs to find full time day care for her. We are in Gilbert. Does anyone know of programs or where these kids can go?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Hi Everyone! Thanks for all your responses. Jason went to ABC 1 on 1 and was very impressed with their program. We will be putting McKenna there when school is out. Thanks so much for all the ideas! MOMS UNITE!!!

Hey F.,

What kind of programs are you looking for? Specifically for autistic children? I run an inhome daycare and have watch 2 autisic children in the past although they were mild cases. If are looking for something more personal feel free to email me and I can give me more info.

Try ABC 1 on 1. They have all kinds of programs for special needs kids. It is located on Gilbert just south of the 60. Their phone is ###-###-####. Good luck! :-)

Check out the MARC Center in Mesa. I used to work for them and they have a ton of programs for developmentally diasbled adults and children. They are a very loving and caring organization and they have been in business for about 50+ years. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me at ____@____.com or call me on my cell ###-###-####. My name is S. Golden.

Hi F.,

I don't know of a summer program for her. However, I recommend you contact the Envita center, as they have a high success rate of improving or eliminating Autism symptoms. Their website is www.Envita.com

Best of luck to you!

Warm Regards,

hi F.,
I have a 15 year old autisic son. first why isn't she going to summer school this year? Tempe has a summer program as long as they are in school. I do not know of any other program but you could Tempe High and ask for Ms. Thompson she is the special needs teacher. if you have any other questions you can e-mail me back.

is she receiving services from the Department of Developmental Disabilities? call them if not. i don't know that you'll be able to get the process in time, but call and start the ball rolling. they provide/manage the money from arizona long term care/chapter 19 and your child can receive services like habilitation and respite and summer programs/they have tons of other programs to help your child specifically.
