I know this has been asked before, but I can't find the question in mamapedia's history.
I currently have ____@____.com U-verse for cable, internet and Tv. The price keeps going up, so I want to check into my one other choice where I live, which is Time Warner. What has been your experience with Time Warner? Has it been reliable? How is their customer service? I appreciate the help.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you all for your advice. I called ____@____.com this morning and they lowered our bill $40!! They also increased our services--move TV channels and faster internet! Great deal!

I switched to Time Warner from At&t. At&t just wouldn't work with me on their price. I already had Time warner for my cable and I switched everything and saved $80 @month. Service is excellent.

They both have awful customer service. They are both overpriced. They will both try to make you sign a contract. They both suck.

Cable is better than working with AT&T. I have dsl thru AT&T and it sucks, cable connections are much faster.

I hate Time Warner! I think that even if my U-verse box exploded, I would still not go back to Time Warner. The digital quality on the TV was terrible, but what really irked me was the high-speed internet always going down. I was having to restart my modem 3+ times a day. I work out of my house and that can be a pretty big deal if I'm trying to share files with clients. For TV, we have liked DirecTV the best, but when they couldn't install an HD dish at our house we switched to U-verse for everything. I find them MUCH more reliable and friendly (as these types of companies go) than Time Warner.

Several years ago AT&T slamed my phone service and then sent me a bill. I called and explained that I was paying a different company for my local and long distance phone service --- they continued to send bills -- I returned them to sender -- AT&T blocked my long distance service for over a year before I got them off my phone service --- I was paying my regular carrier but my service was blocked. I finally got them offf my phone line and filed a complaint with the FCC and FTC. Now they threatened to sue for the unpaid bill. I have contested the bill and the FCC and FTC found in my favor but AT&T is still on my credit report.
I have Time Warner and I'm not thrilled with the service or the cost. But they are better than AT&T.

Here we have AT&T v Charter. Charter is cheaper because Charter sucks.

Take that for what you think it is worth but at least I know my AT&T bill won't go up by a 100 a month because apparently they miss talking to me.

We love Uverse! The best way to handle them is to call to cancle something. They'll give you an AMAZING deal that lasts for 6 months. Call back 6 months later to cancel and they'll give you something else. They told my husband to do this!! We have and are currently paying $100 a month for internet and Uverse tv with the top 300 channels and showtime and cinemax.

We had DirecTV for many years and changed to U-Verse when they offered a great package, but hated it. We kept losing the signal, sometimes several times a day and they had terrible customer service, during the NBA semi-finals was the last straw. Switched to Time Warner, grrrrrrrrr. The poor installer was told he was installing for only one TV, we have 4 that needed to be hooked up, he had to call his supervisor who didn't really help, it was all done wrong. We have problems with the signal and when we've had a problem customer service has been almost non-existent. Very close to going back to DirecTV...it was the least hassle.
