I'm taking the kids to my parents house to see them and my brothers on Christmas Eve.

This year, Christmas day is MINE!!

We'll wake up early I'm sure (thanks kids), open presents, eat breakfast, my husband and I will have coffee and/or mimosas, lounge around in our jammies and watch Christmas-y t.v. and play with our new stuff (I'll probably be doing a little 'damage control' and cleaning up the wrapping paper mess)... eat a little lunch, then I'm HOPING we all go to the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (yes, they're open on Christmas!!) to see the Ancient Egypt Mummy exhibit... then come home, cook, eat, drink, and BE MERRY!!

This is the first Christmas we're staying home, lounging, and not seeing family/friends ON Christmas, and I'm very excited :)

What are YOUR Christmas Day plans??

Happy Holidays :) Everyone be safe out there!

What can I do next?

We do the "formal Christmas" on Christmas Eve- Mass, fancy dinner, no t.v.... just family time with my whole family in FL.

Christmas Day is all about relaxing and having fun. We open presents in the morning and then my dad makes his "annual" pancake breakfast for everyone. We spent the day in the pool and then the women head out to a movie while the kids and men take their afternoon snooze. Then it's a laid-back, but delicious turkey dinner and hanging out under the tiki hut!

I love our FL Christmas!

We are gonna wake up early too (hopefully NOT too early) and I will start some coffee and take out our French Toast Custard and let it come to room temp (yummy! Its amazing and everyone's favorite) hubby will start a fire while the lil' ones check out their Santa presents (which are always un-wrapped and ready to go)and then the lil' kids will go downstairs and wake up the teenagers (Ha!) and then we will open stockings and presents, gotta call my Mom in CA, and put her on speaker when my kids open her gifts she mailed up. We will get a phone call from my nephews telling me what they got and checking if we are awake yet! We will then do some quick clean-up and wait for my sister, BIL, and nephews to come over...then we will exchange gifts with them. We will then eat breakfast...and I imagine it will be about 10am by then (hopefully) and then we will all relax, stay in our jammies and play ALL day! We do munchies for lunch. (I will have to make a cake sometime during this down time), sometime during the day my BIL's baby brother will come over w/his woman of the year (hopefully she is nice)... then prime rib for dinner!

While dinner is being prepared by my BIL, sister and I will put up some Birthday decorations and bring out all my nephews b-day gifts (yes, he was born on Christmas, poor buddy!) He opens his presents...is STUNNED by all his loot (he is 16 this year and getting a CAR! Ford Explorer baby! I am so excited to see his face) Then b-day cake for dessert...and its over :(

~Of course there will be countless phone calls from all our family, which is spread all across the globe and the kids will be running around like crazy excitedly playing with all their gifts and hopped up on sugar from all the candy in their stockings, which I allow then to eat ALL day, whenever they wish!

So EXCITING!

Merry Christmas!

We will be up seeing what Santa brought for our DD and doing gifts at home first. Then, the traditional multi-family shuffle begins. We will head out to my in-laws for a brunch type meal, hang there for a few hours then head back south to my mother's house for dinner and goodies. We go to my Dad's for Christmas eve this year.
We alternate between my Mom & Dad for Christmas Eve since they are the divorced ones haha! It ends up being stressful sometimes but when I stop and take a deep breath, I realize how much we are loved (and not meaning gifts, just being able to be with one another) and it makes it ok!
Happy Holidays everyone!

We will wake up and open presents from Santa... my M. will bring by presents for the kids and we will have a special "Christmas lunch," then we will go to my best friend's house (who is like family) and our kiddos (7 combined) will exchange the presents they bought for each other :) We ALWAYS stay at home and lounge around on Christmas so I am actually kind of excited to be going somewhere, lol

I'm hoping to do the same as you minus the museum. I have been working at work and home on over drive so my pregnant butt will be plopped on the couch enjoying a good movie or playing with new toys with my son.

We did this last year, stayed home and we LOVED IT!! Hope you enjoy! Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Christmas Eve some of my family will come for brunch..new for us. New time, new menu. Should be fun! About 15 or so of us.

Christmas day we will do the grand present thing with our teenager (where did all of those gifts come from?? UGH), shower quick and put on fresh PJ's (lol) and head to my in laws for another huge brunch like meal, open gifts slowly...long lazy late morning with just 8 of us (one smaller child). I will zip out to the cemetary close by for a visit with my Momma at some point. If its warm enough I will stay and read for a bit or just talk with her. It helps me.

Then help MIL prepare lasagna for an early dinner. We will play with any fun stuff we get, read new books, etc. Nap perhaps in the lazy-boy. Its a slow and lazy day spent in clean PJS or sweats, with smaller family unit.

I love it!

Sounds wonderful!
If all goes well, my husband, son, and I will be flying to TN on Christmas Eve to my parents. In the morning of course their will be gifts from Santa for my son, and a nice brunch. Then it's more cooking for Christmas dinner, and then spending time with my folks, grandma, and Uncle. Can't wait. My son is so looking forward to spending time with my family, especially his Great-Grandma!

Our plans are similar to yours. :)

Christmas Eve we host a huge family celebration! Everyone in the extended family comes to our house for food, music, gifts, and generally a fabulous time with family and friends. We've done this since before I was born, except that it used to be at my mom's house, and at her mom's house before that. I love it!

Then, on Christmas Day it's just the four of us all day long. It's wonderful! We get up and see what Santa brought. Eat breakfast and have Bailey's coffee by the fire. Then we leisurely open the gifts that the four of us give to each other. The rest of the day we do exactly what we want, whatever that may be. It's perfect!

Merry Christmas, everyone!

My stepson and his daughter are visiting from out of state. My daughter will come up early christmas morning with her children (5) and we will open presents, have a big breakfast and lounge around most of the day while the kids play with their new stuff. In the later afternoon, my daughter and I will cook christmas dinner. After dinner and dessert, all the kids (including stepson and granddaughter from out of state) will be leaving and hubby and I will have the night to ourselves! The more I talk/think about it, the more excited I get!

On Christmas Eve, we'll have our traditional Christmas Eve dinner, then open all of our presents. On Christmas morning, we will get up and go to church, like every Sunday. What a perfect day for worshipping the God who sent His Son to earth as a humble child so that He could die for us. Such sacrifice, such love. After church, another family that we know are coming over to have fondue with us. So fun! We can't wait. They have 10 children, we have 6, so it will be a party!

Church Christmas Eve, then wake up with excited little one, wait impatiently for older two to arrive, Christmas pancakes (red and green M and M's ) presents and stockings! Drive to my sisters for big dinner and more fun and presents and relatives! Then IF I am lucky some will come home and play at our house till late, I really like My house to be crowded with family! Then on the 26th brunch at my house then drive 5 hours to see Hubby's family and celebrate more!
I have worries we will not all be together every Christmas, who knows ... death, illness, moving away, getting married and spending time with the other family, drug rehab all sorts of things could make us be apart next year. But this year I'll see everyone!!!!
