I need to resume exercising and would love to find a home exercise video. I'd like something very aerobic (no yoga or pilates) that is also fun, preferably with music. What is your favorite exercise video?

What can I do next?

I love, love, loved the old Tae Bo VHS tapes. I have recently upgraded to his boot camp DVD's. Boy are they tough.. but work so well!!!

My new favorite for cardio is the Zumba DVD's.

HI K.

I have been working out for years and have never belonged to a gym because it has never worked into our budget. If you want a fun powerful workout, BeachBody.com has some fabulous work out videos. If you're younger and can do alot of jumping around, kickboxing moves etc.... you may want to look into Turbo Jam (http://www.beachbody.com/product/fitness_programs/turbo-j...) SO fun and great for losing inches! Also, the Tony Horton series of 10 minute trainers are good but the PX90 is awesome, just not the greatest of music.
Lastly, if you can even escape for 20 minutes and take a run.....get your mp3 player with your ear buds and take a run. You will not believe how refreshing it is to clear your head a bit! This has always made me a better mommy because I feel like I've done a little something for myself, my husband and my kids. Taking care of yourself sets a good example of taking care of the body God gave you. Best wishes!

The Biggest Loser has a series of workout videos, which I use from time to time when I can't get to the gym. Jillian Michaels and the other guy are the instructors. You can get them at Costco for ~ $8.

I also bought my mom a Dancing with the Stars workout DVD. She seems to like it. She also uses it on the days she can't get to the gym.

My favorite exercise is still step class - I know, very 1990's. I bought a step to use at home (keep it under the bed) and my favorite video is Kathy Kaehler's basics Workout Class - Step Up to a better body!
I also love all of Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds videos, especially the 3-Mile (2001?) and the Walk and Jog (just 30 minutes).
I usually do them when I can get time alone so that I don't step on the kids and can power right through, but they actually enjoy doing some of it with me too! (They are almost 6 and 3 yrs. old).
Good luck!
Let me know if you have any questions.

Crazy as this sounds but I love Just Dance a wii game. up to four people can play and you get an awesome workout. I do it with my kids and we all work out together. It's cool and fun.

If you have cable and Tivo or DVR, try the Fitness Channel. It has multiple workout shows and you can record several of them to find out which one(s) you like, then you can automatically record those and delete after watching. That way it's a different workout every day (and they usually have their own videos you can buy).

I am almost embarassed to admit this but I have had fun with "dirty dancing the workout." A tip for workout videos too if you have netflix, there are a lot on there to test out before you buy. There are even some on streaming so if you get bored you have something at the ready to try. Have fun!
