I would like to buy a video monitor for my son's room. Which one do you have? Do you recommend it or not? What features do you wish (or are glad) you looked for? Any feedback would be helpful. Thanks!

What can I do next?

We priced the high-end video monitors which can be atrocious in price. We actually ended up buying a wireless security monitor (that does EXACTLY the same thing). The picture is black and white although perfectly clear even in the pitch black of night (so look for one with 'night vision). These types of monitors are usually in other areas of the store besides the baby department and can be purchased at places like BestBuy and Circuit City. Good luck!

We have the Summer brand video monitor for our baby's room, and we love that we can see him as well as hear him all through the night. We bought ours at Target, but I've seen it at Babies R Us and Burlington Baby Depot as well, all at the same price.

We also have the Summer video monitor and LOVE IT! Don't know how we survived the first 6 months without it. My daughter started to get pretty rowdy in her crib, so I really wanted to see what was going on in there...that being said we bought the handheld version with the 1.8" screen and it has worked beautifully! The only tiny complaint I have is that it times itself(the screen) if you have it unplugged, however mine is plugged in 90% of the time. I usually just keep hitting the button to see her when I need to when working it remotely. The sound is great, and the picture is pretty darn good. I think it was about $175 or so.

Hi There
The video monitor is a FABULOUS parent tool!!!

We actually have 2. The Summer Infant Day and Night Monitor that is not wireless but is fabulous for our bedside table. The monitor is nice and big so we can lay in bed and watch her sleep. (This was a hand me down from a friend and we love it)

We just bought the Summer Infant handheld video monitor. The audio portion has a REALLY loud buzz so we keep it turned down and us our audio monitor instead. I like the video button on top because the light from the monitor doesn't disturb our sleep. As soon as she makes a sound we just push the button and can see her.

Good luck in your search for the perfect monitor.
