Car Seat for Air Travel for 3.5 Yo

We're flying with our 1 yo old and 3.5 yo. The 1 yo will be on my lap. We will check his car seat. Question is: do I use a car seat for the 3.5 yo. He's pretty tall, about 42" and about 40 lbs. His car seat seems huge (Graco Nautilus) and I can't imagine him having any room. We will probably check his car seat anyway for driving around but I can't imagine using it on the plane. A friend said that she uses a booster for her 4 yo (who is smaller than my 3.5 yo) but I don't think that is approved by the FAA. I guess it's up to the...

Diapering Through the Night?

Hi everyone! My 8 month old is mostly sleeping through the night (yea!!!) but, a fair amount of the time, he wakes up with his clothes soaked in urine. poor guy!! I'm using Huggies disposable diapers, size 4. He weighs about 18 lbs, so the diapers are one step up already (the box says 22lbs) What else can I use to keep him dry through the night? Thanks!

In Need of Good Diapers!

My son is 6 months old and 20lb 8oz, 27 inches. He's a big boy with chunker legs! I was using Pampers Cruisers size 3 and they were literally cutting his theighs! I switched to Huggies Baby Shaped size 3. These are now leaking pee.. ugh! Huggies just aren;t snug around the leg openings. Any suggestions? Anyone ever try luvs? Or maybe I should try Pampers size 4?

Carseat on Plane Question

I am considering buying a Cosco Scenera 5 pt. harness carseat for a plane trip I am taking with my 2 1/2 year old. I have googled and read that LOTS of people use this one on planes because it's so light weight to carry and easy to fit in the seats. My question is about some things I read said it prevents the child from being able to use the tray table. Has anyone used this particular carseat on a plane and had that issue? I can't understand why that would happen, but we will definilty need the tray for activities I have planned to keep...
