Ways to Make Money Online

I work part time, 24 hours per week. I don't mind my job and plan to come back after baby #3 is born. I would like to contribute more money to the household (mainly because I don't make enough and so I don't hear my husband complain about money). I am a Shaklee Independent Distributor, but a lot of people around my area are not interested due to the fact that money is tight and some of the vitamins/supplements there are a little pricey. They work great, but people just cannot afford it. Are there any jobs online that are not scams where...

Budget of 1000 Dollars a Month?

Hi, I just really went through our transactions and realized that we spend almost 1000 US dollar a month on groceries (including diapers for the youngest one)! We eat meat and I almost always try to buy organic milk and produce if I can, we almost always shop at Safeway in the Bay Area. it feels like a lot of money, just a curious question: How much do you spend? What is average? I am not crazy about Costco and think it is insane to drive 40 minutes to get cheaper diapers...but, maybe I should. What do you do? Would love some input on...

Ideas for Saving Money, Budgeting and Meal Planning

Hi moms! I am new at being a mom, and even more so at being a SAHM and not bringing in the income I used to. My husband and I have tried working with a budget to help ease some of the financial challenges with being a one-income family but so far we haven't found anything that works well for us. I would love to hear how other SAH Moms like you cut costs, keep realistic budgets, where you shop to save money, and which products are cheaper (but just as good) as other name-brand items. A big thing for us is food — plan-ahead,...

Some Ways to save Money

I was recently doing childcare out of my home as well as my full time job as a Social Worker. I was let go from my childcare position. I was expecting to get the child's sibling. So rather than increase my income it dropped dramitcally. My question is how are others making ends meet. Both my husband and I pack our lunches for work and rarely eat out as a family. I clip coupons to save money at the store. I no longer shop for items that we do not need such as clothing. I have had a garage sale and sold unneeded items on ebay. I have...

Letting a Stranger Use Your Membership Card at a Gas Station of a Big Box Store

Is there any reason not to? Scam? She said she left her membership card at home. Any harm? Only members can pump gas to get a break in price Thanks I looked at "my gas receipt" later to see what kind of information was on my receipt and there was no name or account number other than the last 4 digits of my credit card that I used. My membership card has no perks. I scanned the card for her. I also, for precaution, took her lic. plate # and make and model and color of car. In this day and time, I wish we didn't have...

Monthly Cost of Groceries Comparison

I'm trying to find a way to cut back on expenses. One of our biggest monthly expenses is our grocery bill. We shop at Target weekly and a Sam's Club every other week. I try to budget our weekly spending at about $200. Which means we're spending $800 a month on groceries (food, toiletries, and pet food). So my question is: Is $800 a month a reasonable amount? What is the average spending on groceries?

Money Saving Ideas?????

Hi there ladies, I came here because you always seem to have great ideas, ideas that other overwhelmed moms can't think of because of everything else going on in life. Anyway,I am needing money saving ideas. My husband had a brain aneurysm and stroke just over a year ago, and brain surgery 6 months ago. He is 37 years old. He got SDI for a year and was cut off of that a few months back because you can only be on it for 52 weeks. They failed to mention that we should have filed for SSI at the same time, and now the wait for that could...
