Giving up Naps

My son will be 3 in October. A week or so ago he started climbing out of his crib repeatedly. We recognized that we were lucky to have the crib for him for so long and changed his crib to a toddler bed. However, now we are having extreme difficulty getting him to go to sleep. He is constantly out of bed. We have tried putting him back in without engaging him (which doesn't work because when he sees us coming he runs back in and then it is a game that he does over and over and over again). We have tried a positive motivation chart...

8 Month Old with Afternoon Nap Issues

Hi Mamas, I've always gotten a good response from you all, so I thought I would try again with a new problem I have with my 8 month old daughter. I'm having problems getting her to take an afternoon nap. She normally goes to bed for the evening at 8pm and wakes up in the middle of the night for a feeding and wakes up in the morning at 8am. She goes down for a morning nap around 10:30-11:00 and sleeps for probably an hour to an hour and a half, if I'm lucky. Her afternoon nap usually starts around 2:30-3:00 but ever since she figured out...

7 1/2 Month Old Not Taking His Morning Nap

Hello all! My sweet little 7 1/2 month old has recently started not wanting to take his morning nap. He sleeps well at night (usually about 10-12 hours, usually walking up a couple of times, but always putting himself back to sleep without crying or feeding). He also sleeps for about 1 1/2 hours between noon and 1:30pm or so. His morning nap, which previously had been occuring between 8:30-10. Now we put him down at 8:30, but he will often only sleep about 20 minutes, if at all. He spends the hour and a half talking to his stuffed...

Schedule Nap Times??

I have an 8 month old daughter who will not sleep during the day. My husband and I have tried lying her down for naps and she has a fit...screaming and crying. We have actually gotten to the point at night where we put her down to sleep and she doesn't spas out. We put her in the crib and she rolls over. During the day though is a different story. You can tell she is tired and falls asleep in your arms but when you go to lay her down the tears start falling. We got to the point where if she won't sleep in her crib then she doesn't...
