Is She Teething?

Good morning, I think my five month old might be teething. She is showing all the typical signs, except a swollen gum yet. She is more fussy and even pulling on her ear. I have given tylenol. It seems to help. Does anyone have any good tips or ideas for teething process? What should i expect? Thanks- reb

Orthodontist for a 7 Year Old?

I took my kids to their 6-month cleaning with the dentist this week. The dentist mentioned that my 7-year old son's bite was a little off and I might want to think about a orthodontist. When I asked when he should go, the dentist said that now would be a good time. I fully accept that orthodontists are in our future. I will pay the money to let my children have good teeth. However, my son only has 4 permanent adult teeth so far. Is it really common to start with an orthodontist this young before the adult teeth have even come in? ...

7 Year Old Drooling

Every year, as soon as the weather gets cold, my son has trouble controlling his spit and his chin gets really chapped. When he was 4, it was very noticeable and his teacher even commented that he drooled on the toys. He has a long history of speech articulation issues so his speech therapists at the time did exercises with him to strengthen his mouth muscles. Then spring came and it seemed to stop. Every year we seem to go through this, some years worse than others. At this point you can see the spit on his chin if you look hard enough...

Should a 6 Year Old Get Ready for School Without Reminders...

I have a 6 year old boy.. and a 7 year old girl. I work part time and have a nanny come to my house to watch the kids get them breakfast and drive them to school. Today nanny called me. She said she thought the kids were big enough to get themselves ready for school without constant reminders. She said she had a talk with them today and told them that since they were big now.. she should not have to tell them to get dressed to put their pjs away and to brush teeth and hair... etc... they should just know the routine and do it.. ...

7 Year-old with Digestive problems....could It Be Celiac or Chron's?

I am the parent of 3. My oldest, a 7-year-old girl, has had gastrointestinal problems for about 3 years. Lots of pain varying in severity, and hard for her to describe. She always pointed to different locations. It happened most days, with a few little breaks, but mostly she had just chronic pain. Also, I journaled things but could never find a food or food group that caused the problem. After a year of this off-and-on pain, I knew things weren't normal. She went to an allergist, and tested negative for the major food allergies. (he...

How to soothe swollen in molars teething for 6 years old?

My son is getting his six year molars in... his poor little face is so swollen - he looks like someone who had wisdom teeth pulled! We checked with the dentist when he stated his teeth hurt and she verified that his problem was his 6 yr molars but this was prior to the swelling... He looks like a little chipmunk! I've been giving him doses of Tylenol to help ease his pain -- does anyone else have any suggestions to help him through this?
