I am looking for a new crib for my baby girl on the way. I previously purchased one for my son at Bergstroms but wasn't really excited about the selection for my girl's crib. I have looked at Pottery Barn Kids, Babies R Us and Bluberries and Bassinets. Does any one have any other suggestions?
I 2nd the vote for USA Baby. They carry good brands there and often have sales. They will often sell their floor models for even greater discounts. They delivery fast too. We've gotten several pieces there for about 50% off, with same day delivery.
Baby Town in Reseda has a HUGE selection. I think they were voted one of the top 10 in the country (despite the location!).
I have a beatiful Belini natural sleigh crib that was never really used. My kids slepy in my bed rather than the crib. I can sell it to you for $200. I also have a changing table that matches for $300. It's the best quality Italian made. We bought them together for $1400 ten years ago. We kept it thinking we might have more kids, but we aren't. I'm in the Valley if you are interested.

Have you tried looking at baby usa. I purchased my sons crib from there and i love it. They have a huge selection and you can get them in different colors. The best time to buy one is during there once a timester sale. That is when you will get the best deals.
We bought our crib at USA Baby in Torrance. They had some designs that were different than the places that you mentioned. Wide range, everything from traditional to contemporary. Congratulations on your soon-to-be little boy!
We really like our Babi Italia crib that we got at Babies R' Us in espresso finish. We got the one that converts to both a toddler bed and a full-size bed. Medium price compared to some and has gotten good ratings in books like Baby Bargains.

Have you looked at the Munire furniture available at Bergstroms? We have the Munire Newport collection for our daughter. It's very sturdy and something that she will be able to use for a long time since it converts to a full-sized bed headboard and footboard.

My first son had the Stokke and he loved it so much that we just converted the crib to a toddler bed so he can use it until he's around 7 years old. I'm pregnant with my second child and we got another Stokke for him as well. The matress is so comfortable and I love the fact that if they go potty in it (diaper training or leakage) I can simply pour really hot water on the mattress to disinfect it and air dry. It's pricey but we love it.
You have GOT to get Baby Bargains! It's a GREAT book with reviews on everything from furniture to strollers to baby carriers to clothing. The section on furniture is wonderful!

If interested, we are getting rid of my daughter's crib for $250 (with mattress). We also have a matching changing dresser for $200. We originally got it at Nationwide (I think that was the name) which was a baby furniture store on Lincoln in Santa Monica. The original price of the crib was $500+ and the dresser $350. I love my Stokke crib. Bergstrom's used to carry the brand but was phased out. A bit expensive but I hear you can get them used at eBay or the like. However, I did use the Co-sleeper bassinet that attaches to the side of your bed for the first 6 mos. Loved that too!
We bought my daughter's crib and dresser at Burlington Baby Factory. They seemed to have the best selection and better prices than Babies R Us. You can also look in some of the baby magazines; a lot of times they put a 10% off coupon in the magazines.
Children's Orchard has GREAT stuff... beautiful and used so it's also affordable!!
