Do they give you free gifts after you deliver your baby. Dr. Pierce is my doctor.

What can I do next?

I delivered there in Feb 2010. I'm not sure what kind of baby gifts you are referring to. Do you mean like formula companies? With my first in 2006, we delivered at Medical Center of Plano and I was given a diaper bag with formula samples. At Allen, I did not get any formula or a diaper bag. The night before I checked out, the night nurse brought me an extra pack of diapers and wipes.

I delivered there last year. They dont really give you a free gift, but you do get the nice meal after you deliver. You also get the medela double hand pump, and some diapers and wipes. But technically that is all covered with insurance.
My OB sent us a cute gift though, a little baby shoe with my child's name and birthday, time, weight inscribed on it.

No they do not. I delivered my son Feb 09 and left on a Sunday, so I thought maybe it was because of the day I left that I did not receive a gift like my sister had after delivering in another hospital. I just had my daughter there in July of this year and I asked if they gave a gift and they said they do not. They do give a voucher for your husband to also get a meal, but that is it. After thinking about it I really enjoyed both experiences there and did not really need a gift from them.

Most of the "free gifts" hospitals give you are actually promotions from formula companies. Presby Allen is designated as a "baby friendly hospital," i.e. pro-breastfeeding (I know, it's a weird name for it--as if other hospitals are anti-baby??). Part of this is they give you lots of bfing support, which is awesome. Part of this is that they refuse all sponsorship/promotions from formula companies. My obstetrician, knowing this, gave me the enfamil promotional kit at one of my last office visits (and I now use my free diaper bag from enfamil to carry by breastpump back and forth from work, lol!)
