Recommendations on Travel Boosters/high Chairs

I am wondering if anyone has any portable/travel high chairs or boosters that they just love! I am looking to have a good, versatile chair that we can easily take with on trips and when eating out at restaurants/pub/etc that may not have safe high chairs. I bought the Fisher Price booster and Chicco clamp on, foldable travel chair, but can't decide on either one. Any suggestions would be helpful! Thanks

Pediatrician in Wylie/Plano Area.

This has probably been asked before by others, however I will ask it with our needs in mind. We need some recommendations for a pediatrician, with these things in mind. Close to Wylie, Murphy, Plano, Allen. Would be a plus, but not a necessity if they had privileges at Plano Medical Center. Is available and actually explains things in simple terms. (Other words, not one that comes in for thirty seconds and says take this or do this and call if anything changes and then takes off out the door.) One that does not get in a...

Moms to Sensory Kids: Does the Going to the Dentist Ever Get Better?

2nd trip to the dentist for my just-turned 3 year old. Hyperventilating, screaming from the moment we entered until the moment we left. I know lots of kids hate the dentist, particularly at this age, but this was extreme behavior. We are increasing our # of visits to every 3 months and going to start taking "field trips" there in hopes he can reduce his anxiety of the office at least. If you are a mom with a kid with SPD, is there hope it gets better over the years? Any advice?

Psych eval...To Do or Not Do?

My daughter qualified for mommy/me classes at our regional center (early intervention) because she scored low for social/adaptive development when we had her evaluated. She scored average or above for the other categories, except for gross motor for which she was a bit below average (she has low muscle tone). So she didn't qualify for any actual therapy services like occupational/physical/speech therapy. During the last evaluation a few months ago, I mentioned that she is shy and tends to socially isolate. The regional center asked...

What Do You Really Need for an Infant?

So it's been 8 years since I last had a baby to care for. I am expecting again and am at a loss for what I really need and trying to prioritize. I have looked at many registries and think they include a lot of frivolous items (wipe warmers ect) So if you could go back in time and know then what you know now, what are your must have items. When I say I have nothing I mean not one baby item at all. I know I'll need a crib, clothes, ect. I also plan on breastfeeding, so I will need a pump for when I return to work and there are so many to...

Infant Drinks Formula Too Fast

My month and a half baby drinks his milk extremely too fast to the point that he starts to choke. I´ve been using the slow flow nipple and have tried different bottles with different nipples but he still does the same. He does not drink his formula peacefuly, it almost seems like he is wrestling with the bottle/nipple. We have him on alimentum by similac, since the dr. thought that his restlesness could be because of a lactose intolerance issue. Any advice?????

Advise on Dry Face and Scalp

Hello, My 11 week old has dryness in his face and scalp. Fyi, He was born with a full head of hair. The rest of his body is just fine. We have been bathing every 2-3 days and use Gerber Grins and Giggles Baby Oatmeal (Hypoallergenic) wash for hair and skin. Just recently we used Aveeno Baby Calming Comfort Bath (Lavender and Vanilla)for a nightime bath. We have been trying to make the switch to bathing him at night rather than the morning. The dry scalp has just recently come about, however the face has been dry for a while. My...

Seeking Advice Regarding Febrile Seizure

Hello, just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience w/ their child. My older son-5, had his first seizure the day after Christmas. Turns out he had a double ear infection along with a fever. The hospital told us it was very commen and just a febrile seizure. Has to do w/ the rapid increase of fever in a short time. Then they let us go. I was extremely frustrated. Then our pediatrician said it was more uncommen to have this type of seizure this late in age-usually having the first years earlier. So he suggested an EEG. Well...

"What Are Your Thoughts on So Many Vaccines Before Age 2"

I have been interviewing pediatricians and reading so much about the concerns over the 35 vaccinations a baby receives in its first two years. I'm very worried and concerned. I do want to vaccinate, but why so many in just two years. Can anyone provide more insight to their own experience and choices with having vaccinated their child with all 35 over the last two+ years?

" My Preschooler Will Not Sleep in Her bed..HELP!"

My daughter will not sleep in her bed. Every night she comes into my room and sleeps in my bed! I have decorated her room to the design & decor she chose. I even got her a new bed and that still did not work! I have tried asking her what is wrong why she won't sleep in her bed and her answer is always "because I just can't". I have recently tried to use the bedtime routine chart with stickers and all and she just keeps waking up at 3am and comes into my bed and sleeps!!!! HELP!!!! What am I doing wrong? What else can I try?

Getting Depressed Wondering If I'll Be Able to Handle My Child...

I am so worn out, and I don't know if it's because my 13 week old daughter is completely "normal" in her behavior, or if she already has a "challenging" personality. I always heard from friends that the first 3 or 4 months of life were the hardest, but my mom and MIL both make comments such as "she really knows what she wants" and "she's going to be hard to discipline once she gets to that age" which really worries me. Some of the reasons our parents have been a little negative are that our baby - suddenly started refusing bottles when...
